Introduction to Deep Listening
Introduction to Deep Listening
At the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation, we believe that a successful learning process involves the whole person. Over the last few decades, the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation has developed and applied a range of practices and tools that reflect its mission to inspire, equip and connect individuals, groups and organizations to engage effectively and innovatively in the promotion of trust, ethical leadership, sustainable living and human security.
The half-day course "Introduction to Deep Listening " is aligned with our core values and can be delivered as part of your stay in Caux or separately.
IMPORTANT: For participants based in Geneva and with a Swiss contract, please note that it is possible to obtain a subsidy from the canton of Geneva through the Chèque Annuel de Formation (CAF) programme. More information on the subsidy and eligibility criteria is available here.

Goals
Deep listening is one of the most challenging yet crucial skills to master. It plays a vital role in motivating teams, unlocking their full potential and facilitating successful negotiations. Drawing inspiration from Social Presencing Theatre and Theory U, deep listening encourages awareness of how we engage in dialogue with ourselves and others. Rather than solving the issues or questions at hand, it fosters constructive and empathetic feedback within a group, addressing the situation and uncovering the causes of any obstacles.
Public
Any group of people interested in forging deeper links and extending their curiosity to connect more intensely with others.
Objectives and deliverables
Participants will be offered first-hand experience of the methodology used to encourage deep listening. They will experiment with different roles, including the person who presents a problem and the people who listen and make their sensitivity resonate it. Through this tool, participants will learn to listen constructively and provide empathetic feedback.
By the end of the course, participants will have practised the tools proposed and will be able to apply them independently in their daily lives, whether private or professional.
