Afsaneh Seifinaj

Afsaneh Seifinaji is a peace agent and a youth empowerment activist from Tehran. She studied for a Masters of International Relations in Iran and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne in Australia. Afsaneh started her leadership journey in 2015 when she became a peace trainer in collaboration with such organizations as the World Peace Initiative Foundation, Initiatives of Change, Youth for Peace International, Taiwan Foundation for Democracy and the United Network of Young Peacebuilders. Afsaneh has facilitated workshops about sustainable peace and conflict transformation for at least 1,500 people in Iran and served as a National Humanitarian Affairs Support Specialist at the United Nations Office in Iran in 2018 and 2019. She is currently doing research on extremism and counterterrorism in the Middle-East.
