Leave a Legacy
Writing your will
Your will allows you to say exactly what you want to give to your family, friends and to the causes you care about. It is easy to do and often costs little or nothing. Remember that you can amend your will at any time.
How to make a will depends on where you live. In Switzerland, there are two types of wills: written by hand (holographic) or drawn up before a notary (notarial) which guarantees your will complies with the law.
We always advise you to consult a professional adviser (legal or financial) to ensure your will reflects your wishes and respects the law of your country especially regarding family members’ entitlements.
How to include Initiatives of Change Switzerland in your will
Make sure to include our exact name and address:
CAUX - Initiatives of Change Foundation
International Environment House II
Chemin de Balexert 9
CH-1219 Geneva
You can then specify what kind of gift you wish to leave, for example:
- a percentage of your estate (e.g. 1%, 10% or up to 100%)
- a sum of money
- shares or other investments
You can also decide to first make provisions for your family and friends and then leave a part or the balance of your estate to Initiatives of Change Switzerland. Finally, you may also consider making Initiatives of Change Switzerland a beneficiary of your life insurance.
