Hospitality for Change: An exceptional day at the Caux Palace

On 13 September 2023 the Caux Palace will be the setting of an inspiring programme, packed with workshops on inner development, a guided tour of the Caux Palace, networking opportunities, presentations and an exchange on the concept of Hospitality of Change and - as the cherry on the cake - an exceptional concert in the Caux Palace theatre by singer Maria de la Paz singing "Lhasa". OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

DOMINIQUE HYDE - Director of External Relations at UNHCR

Dominique Hyde is Director of External Relations at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She is responsible for partnerships with governments, civil society, UN agencies and the private sector, as well as media, communications and promotional efforts in support of UNHCR's protection and assistance programs.
Dominique began her career with the Government of Canada (Senate, House of Commons and Department of Foreign Affairs). She then joined the International Organization for Migration in Haiti.

From 1997 to 2010, she worked for the United Nations World Food Program, holding various positions in Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, Iraq, Italy and Nepal. In September 2010, Dominique took on the role of UNICEF Representative in Jordan; at the end of 2013, she moved to New York as Deputy Director of the organization's Public Partnerships Division. In 2017, she became Director of Strategic Engagement at the World Health Organization's headquarters in Switzerland, before joining UNHCR as Director of External Relations in January 2019.

Dominique holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, has taken Master's courses in Economics at the London School of Economics and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa.

AYHAM AL MOHAMMAD - Member of an intercultural tandem at PAIRES

Ayham Al Mohammad is member of an intercultural tandem at the association PAIRES.

IHSSANE OTMANI - Researcher, PhD candidate and Co-President of the central comittee of PAIRES

Ihssane Otmani has been co-president of PAIRES since October 2022 and a member of the association since October 2020. In addition to her involvement with PAIRES, Ihssane Otmani has been a doctoral student and researcher at the Institut de Hautes Etudes en Administration Publique (IDHEAP) at the University of Lausanne since February 2019. She is preparing her thesis on the educational and professional aspirations of refugees and is studying how different public policies influence their aspirations and integration paths. She has published several articles in international scientific journals (peer-reviewed). She also holds a Master's degree in Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Erfurt in Germany. She completed several internships in Germany, notably with UNHCR Nürnberg, and worked as an interpreter for refugees during her studies. Originally from Morocco, she has also worked in several private and public institutions in her country.

JACQUELINE COTÉ - President Caux Initiatives of Change

Jacqueline Coté was the Director of Public Relations and previously Head of Communications at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva from 2009 to 2021. Prior to that she served as the Permanent Representative to the UN of the International Chamber of Commerce and was Senior Advisor Advocacy & Partnerships to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.  In the early part of her career, Ms Coté practiced as an international lawyer in Canada and Switzerland and held management positions with multinational companies SGS and DuPont.  She has been president of Caux Initiatives of Change since April 2022.

IGNACIO PACKER - Executive Director Caux Initiatives of Change

Ignacio Packer has been Executive Director of the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation since 1 May 2023. Prior to this, he served as Executive Director of ICVA, the global consortium of humanitarian NGOs. He has over 30 years of experience in humanitarian work and development issues. He served a five-year term as Secretary General of the Terre des Hommes International Federation, worked for the Terre des Hommes Foundation, the Swiss Tropical Institute, the European Association for Development and Health, Medecins Sans Frontieres, KPMG and the European Bank for Latin America. Ignacio is an expert on human rights and social issues and has been strongly engaged in global advocacy on protection frameworks for migrant and refugees with a particular focus on children and youth.

MARIA DE LA PAZ - Singer and Musician

Maria de la Paz, Argentinian-born and currently based in Switzerland, is a rare singer with extraordinary charisma. For this creation, she has chosen to pay tribute to Lhasa, the Mexican-American singer who left us far too soon. For Maria de la Paz, this poetess of song is one of the most important references on her path as a woman and musician. Surrounded by five exceptional musicians, Maria de la Paz revisits the poetess' repertoire, honoring her career as a shooting star and her rich lyrics, always imbued with her roots and convictions. There's no doubt that the "meeting" of these two great female voices will touch the heart!
